Essentially the debate comes down to the idea of decriminalizing the acts of the prostitutes (the "selling" of sex) and criminalizing the johns or pimps (the "buyers" of sex) in an attempt to address the root cause of prostitution. By eliminating the demand for sex, there has been a drastic drop in the amount of human trafficking in an area.

Is it acceptable to decriminalize the acts of prostitutes whilst imposing harsher penalties on the purchasers of sex?
